“One generation shall praise your works to another!” Psalms 145:4 (NKJV)
I love that as christians, God has called us not just to be partakers of the Good News but to sing the praises of God to the next generation. We can do so by been part of a local church that champions that next generation or we can do so by ensuring that our children are actively involved in our local kids and youth ministries at our churches. However, the most effective way to do so from my personal experience is by bringing our children along with us on our journey of faith! Simply put, it means informing and celebrating with them all the great things God has and is doing in our lives.
In our household, just before “light outs” we say a simply prayer with our two young children, thanking God for all the amazing things that happened that day. We thank God for little things – like finding the Peppa Pig toy or the spiderman mask – and other times we thank God for big things like a new car and safe travels.
I can encourage you this week to think and consider what you can do as a family to sing the praise of God to the next generation!
