I hope you enjoyed your Anzac Day (25th April) public holiday. As I spent some time remembering the courageous men and women in our armed forces, both past and present, I couldn’t help but think that courage is not the absence of fear, but action despite it.
“This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 NLT
I love that God commands Joshua to be strong and courageous. In other words, yes there might be moments of fear. Yes, there might be moments where discouragement may try to kick in. But Joshua, be strong and courageous because I am the Lord your God and I will be with you wherever you go.
Let’s be encouraged this week that we can be strong and courageous despite what is in front of us. Not necessarily because there is an absence of fear, but simply because God is with us wherever we go.
The best is yet to come!
